IRGC to hold war games in Persian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz

TEHRAN – The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps will begin three days of maneuver in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz starting from today.
The maneuver is part of the country’s military preparedness in which new weapons and innovative tactics will be tested, Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi told reporters on Wednesday.Moreover, IRGC Deputy Commander Hossein Salami said on Wednesday that the drill, dubbed “Great Prophet 5,” will be carried out to “lay emphasis on security of the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz,” according to Press TV.
Salami said, “We intend to display Iran’s constructive, positive and determining role in establishing security in the region.
